Miko

Sometimes dogs are silly. My dog, Miko, is usually doing something silly, but it just makes all the more fun for me to love him. Here are some of the things I caught him being silly about.

Pic. 1 - Being silly in his kennel. Sometimes he goes in there even when he doesn't have to. He is so cute.

Pic. 2- Sun bathing with me. He thought his face was tan enough so he decided to keep it under the chair in the shade.

Pic. 3- Got you! Look at that cute lil' snout.

Pic. 4- When John and I are taking showers he likes to cuddle up next to the tub. Seriously, so cute.

ShoeBox

Have you discovered this app yet? It is so awesome. Do you have a bunch of old pictures just lying around in boxes or huge photo albums full of photos from years and years ago. If your anything like me ( I still have photos from middle school that for some reason I can't seem to part with) this is going to be your new favorite toy. I especially like this because if you do not own a scanner you will save mucho denaro. This app scans your photos for you and allows you to upload them digitally. Apple guys are so smart.

Smell The Roses

We all see these flowers every year and there is a big chance you have seen them everywhere, from your granny's to your neighbors. But they really are to beautiful just to pass by and not give the proper attention they deserve. So, if you get a chance, stop by the ones you come across, even if just for a second. You'll be glad you did.

Green Goodness

IF you have never had the pleasure to juice your own fruits and veggies I highly recommend it. John and I recently got a juicer and we use it at least once a week. There's nothing like the taste you get from fresh juice made just seconds before. Not only are the health benefits a major plus it's also a good way to lose weight and stay healthy. Our goal is to replace one meal a day with as much juice as we want. And since there is no added sugar in this it's a meal worth waiting for. Right now we are experimenting with our own fruit and veggie combinations but we also are using a recipe book that came with our juicer (Jack Lalanne). And since apples are in season we can't wait to make our own apple juice.

Whole Sale

~Turquoise~

Being married to a jewelry has it's perks. Like this last weekend when we (well, he) was invited to a whole sale jewelry show. The trade shows are rather interesting. We get to see the raw stones (turquoise, jade, agate. pearls) before they are cast and set to make those necklaces, earrings and bracelets we all love. It can be a bit overwhelming because every vendor has so much as so little at cost (whole sale), that it can be hard to take in. We managed to spend way more money than anticipated but, I think my jewelry box should be well stocked for the next year or so. Here are a few strands of items that I was able to pick out.

Whole Wheat Oatmeal Waffles

We got one of the coolest waffle makers as a wedding present a couple months ago and we haven't stopped using it since. What makes this one so unique is that it cooks TWO waffles at once. Now John and I can share breakfast together while the others waffle doesnt get cold. We used this recipe and they were absolutely scrumptious. Plus, the oats help keep you fuller longer and make a for a more nutritious meal.

Finishing Up

After what seemed to take a good portion of my year, I have finally finished and documented my sock making adventure. I started in March and thought i could finish by summer. That didn't happen. I had no idea socks were going to be so complex. They are a simple design really but the string is much thinner and it takes a while for your fingers to get used to it. At least for me anyways. But, I am glad I am done with the ones i set out to make. I will probably take a break from making more of them just because there are so many more items I want to make and I know how long the last ones took me. You can see my previous ones here.
